Little River Guest House is situated on the edge of a beautiful and traditional Bulgarian mountain village. In a river valley (pictured), guests have access to roam the wooded hills that surround us.

Although we feel remote, a cycle or a very short drive away is a lovely leisure resort with an open air swimming pool (with swim-up bar!), a small national park (Lyuliatsite), and a beautiful lake.

A little further a field are a large number of places of interest including Gabrovo, with its museums, bars and restaurants.

Walking

Boynovtsi is a great place to base yourself for walking. The village is surrounded by wooded hills, and we are very close to our very own national park - Lyuliatsite - which can be reached on foot or by a short drive up the hill to a marked Eco Trail, for those wanting a gentler experience. Either way, it is absolutely stunning!

Swimming

There is a leisure resort with a fantastic, large swimming pool (and other sports facilities), around 5 minutes drive away. The pool is open from June until early September.

For the more adventurous, there is also a beautiful lake which offers you the opportunity for wild swimming, or just to cool off in the summer heat.

Skiing

While we're not in a ski resort, we are only 20km from Uzana, which is also the official central point of Bulgaria - and nearest resort. A number of the hotels offer day passes and ski hire, so if you don't want to stay in a resort, but fancy a day or two skiing as part of a mixed activity winter holiday, then we are a perfect location.

Birding

Bulgaria is fantastic for birdwatching. The varied climate and terrain, and wide open spaces create an ideal habitat for many species of birds. Boynovtsi and Lulyatsi are no exception. You don't even have to leave our garden to see Woodpeckers, Buzzards, Finches, Tits, Bee Eaters, Tree Creepers and Pheasants.
